Projects

This is a description of my project. It showcases features, technologies used, and key functionality.

Project One

Developed a website for the Gazetteer App, which assisted the user to profile a country through the presentation of demographic, climatic, geographic and other data. An interactive map with the capabilities of searching a country, placename or landmark. Technologies of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, PHP, Font Awesome, and LeafletJS with Easy Button, GeoSearch, Marker Clusters and Extra Markers were applied.

Project Two

A lightweight React app that, on load, simultaneously fetches all currency codes with flag URLs from REST Countries and current exchange rates from the ExchangeRate API, storing both results in component state. It then renders two dropdown pickers—“From” and “To” currencies—each displaying its flag and code, alongside an input field for the amount. Whenever the user changes the amount or selects different currencies, the app immediately recalculates and displays the converted value using the stored rates, thanks to React’s state and effect hooks.

Project Three

This application, built with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, and PHP, integrates three APIs—Ocean, Hierarchy, and Siblings—to retrieve geographic data based on user input. Users can: Enter latitude and longitude to find ocean details. Select a country to view its administrative hierarchy. Choose a placename or attraction to see related locations. Each API section includes a Submit button to process inputs and display results.
